Mercedes-Benz is launching the refreshed, 2018 C-Class in India today which gets mild design changes. Exterior and interior changes aside, the car is powered by new generation petrol and diesel engines that are BS VI compliant and also more powerful and are mated to 9-speed automatic transmissions. The C-Class has been one of the best selling cars in its segment for the longest time and Mercedes-Benz hopes the 2018 C-Class will only do better. Here's all you need to know from the launch event.

All new Mercedes-Benz C-Class models getting launched today will use a 9-speed automatic transmission that offers quicker shifts with a sportier feel than before.
The Star Ease service packages for the new Mercedes-Benz C 220d and C 300d start at just ₹ 72,000 for 2 years.
Interestingly, Mercedes-Benz is NOT launching petrol engined versions of the C-Class today. Only the diesel engined versions, the C 220d and C 300d have been launched.
The Mercedes-Benz C Class C 300d gets a sportier looking single slat grille, as compared to the two slat grille on the C 220d.
The second model getting launched in the Mercedes-BenzInd C-Class family today is the C220d, powered by the same 2.0 litre diesel engine as the #C300d but with lower outputs of 194PS and 400Nm.

C 220d Prime: Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom India)
C 220d progressive: Rs 44.25 lakh (ex-showroom India)
C 300d: Rs 48.5 lakh (ex-showroom India)
The more powerful C 300 d version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is also getting launched in India today, which is powered by a 245PS, 500Nm 2.0-litre four cylinder diesel engine and will only be launched in the AMG trim.
Since the launch of the original Mercedes-BenzI C-Class in 1982, the German carmaker has sold over 9.5 million units of the car making it one of its highest selling models ever.
The current generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class, code named the W205 was launched in 2014 and the refreshed version being launched today is a midlife update for the car.
