The year 2022 is almost coming to an end and we still have some exciting launches lined up in the next 2 months. Right from the new MG Hector to the locally assembled Jeep Grand Cherokee, let's take a dive into what other cars are in the pipeline before we call the curtains for 2022.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The fifth-generation Grand Cherokee SUV will be introduced to the Indian market by the American SUV manufacturers in November 2022. Jeep hasn't disclosed which powertrain options will be offered in the Grand Cherokee. Nevertheless, the SUV is available in the worldwide market with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid, a 5.7-litre V8, or a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine.

The new Grand Cherokee will include advanced driver assistance systems, according to the manufacturer (ADAS). The SUV will also have a complete connection package with round-the-clock support. With a 10.1-inch touchscreen entertainment system and a 10.1-inch digital instrument panel, it has a completely new dashboard design. For the front passenger, there is a separate 10.1-inch dashboard-mounted screen.

MG Hector

MG Motor India has teased the upcoming next-gen MG Hector. The front bumper of the new Hector has also been modified and now has sizable headlight pods on either side. Additionally, take note of the SUV's apparent radar sensor for the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). We expect the new MG Hector to debut towards the climax of 2022. It's doubtful that the SUV will get any mechanical improvements. The 2.0-litre diesel, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre mild hybrid engines will remain in use.

The company has announced a sizable 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system for the updated SUV in a single teaser image. Also visible is a new completely digital instrument panel.

Toyota Innova Hycross

The new Toyota Innova Hycross, which will debut in Indonesia in November, has received its first teaser. The next strong-hybrid MPV has been seen repeatedly testing in India and will be unveiled here shortly after making its debut elsewhere in the world. The engine is most likely a 2-litre powerful hybrid petrol engine with about 190 horsepower. An e-CVT 'box will be used to route power. And before you ask, a diesel engine will make the Innova Hycross skip. To reduce the cost of the entry-level model, there may be a base petrol engine option.

The front fascia design is seen in the teaser image, which has a wider hexagonal grille and more angular and aggressive-looking headlights on either side. These are anticipated to be LED devices with built-in daytime-operating LEDs. The front bumper is probably going to be reprofiled and get a new fog light housing, while the bonnet gets pronounced crease lines.

Mercedes EQB

Mercedes-Benz India has announced it will launch the Mercedes -EQ EQB in India by the fourth quarter of 2022, after the festive season. The Mercedes-EQ EQB is slated to come to India in its EQB 300 4Matic guise. This version comes in a dual motor set-up and puts out 228PS and 390 Nm. Powering this is a battery with 66.5 kWh of usable capacity which gives this version of the EQB a range of about 411 km as per the NEDC cycle. The SUV can charge at up to 22 KW AC current and takes 1 hour to charge from 0 to 80 per cent via a 50kW DC fast charger.

This should also mean that we should see models like the EQE as well as the electric EQG in the country as when they become available. Mercedes-Benz will have 15 EV models on sale globally by this timeframe and the Indian outpost says that all of these models will be evaluated to see if make business sense for India.
